I think cultural tattoos are beautiful. I am african american and is planning to get an west african inspired tattoo as a tribute to my heritage.
I thought people were not allowed to have a camera when this kind or ritual tattooing process ?! You don’t have to keep this private ?
So for a palagi, then, how much fa’asamoa is good enough? Say I lived there, say I know sasa and siva and learned dancing from my auntie taupo, and say I sing all the Samoan songs – it doesn’t change that I’m a palagi.Is it enough? I want a malu, but even I am not sure my love of Samoa, that it’s home to me, that I miss Vailima and all my Samoan aiga there is enough.What makes Samoan, you know? Skin or heritage or aiga or love or how much time you put your feet on the island or what?
their just scared of change… me personally think if you understand fa’a samoa and know the matai of your village..(like Galea’i is the matai of ‘Aua and Fitiuta) then i dont see why not… polynesians are always the quick ones to judge but slow to accept… thats the sad thing about my people… you go girl… you get that malu…
its the same as asking What makes an American? i personally don’t care. to me if one understands the culture it shouldnt matter what skin color he is, but that’s just my perspective
kiwidiva is right, you better be careful with sterilization/hygiene issues. An old buddy of mine Pouvave Pou Jr. and his best friend got theirs at the same time but his friend died from blood poisoning from the implements.

Out of all of the contestants, I would like to see Russell win – and I can't believe that I'm saying that because in the beginning I could not stand him. He is playing the smartest game and outwitting everyone. Natalie, Mick and Jaison are all going along for the ride. Now Mick is getting smarter and thinking it's time to get Russell out because he could end up going all the way. If Russell made it to the end, he would probably be handed the cash because of the way he played the game. I can't believe he found the immunity idol so many times without clues.
Some of the contestants were so boring this year. I saw Brett on the last episode, and I thought "what's his name?" I did not even remember seeing him in past episodes. That shows he did not have much to do with anything in the show.
Shambo is a bit odd and I find it funny that she thinks she's running the show, when it's actually Russell. When she watches all the episodes, I think she will be a little embarrassed how she was thinking and acting.
Jaison, I like. He kind of gave up in the rainy episodes (but who wouldn't), but he's coming back strong now that the sun is back out! He's won quite a few immunity challenges.
Natalie, I don't really care for. She is just riding on Russell's coat tails to get as far as she can. If she goes to the end, I don't think she could get a vote. She hasn't done anything strategy-wise.
So, all in all, I hope that it's Russell who wins. If he weren't on this season, it would be extremely boring!

There are a couple of different theories as where Polynesians migrated from–Austronesia, Asia, The Middle-East, etc.–However, They're not absolutely certain.
Melanesians aka Some Fijians and New Guinians appear "African" looking with dark skin and textured hair. But, Pacific Islanders in generals are tan/dark skin and have textured hair. Although most Samoans do not have the same texture as Fijians or Africans unless there was a mix of races as some point.
Anyways, we most likely came from South East Asia. But, Polynesians are their own race. It's what they are. Most likely Samoans, both American Samoa and Western Samoa came from Tonga, Tonga from Melanesia, and so on.
But, didn't everyone originate from Africa, anyways? No matter what, we're Polynesian.
