I may be a bit biased as my fiancee is featured in this book (pg. 94), but I think this is one of the best tattoo books I’ve had the pleasure of looking at. While some of the designs chosen are a bit simplistic for my taste, it shows a wide range of tattoos in color and also black work.
I like that it doesn’t just feature big name artists. The author took into account many artists no matter how well known, based on their talent (which is how it should be). The photographs are amazing and you won’t believe some of them are tattoos because they look so real.
This is well worth the small price that is being asked for it. Any fan of tattooing would be pleased with the work in this book.

Excellent
I bought this book for my boyfriend, who designs lots of art and tattoos. He really loves this book and was very fascinated with the amazing pictures!
This is an Excellent Book on Tattoos. The variety and quality of both the tattoos and the photos of them are extremely good. I have not got to read the text yet, I have been so engrossed in the photos. The book does not focus on just the big name tattooists like a lot of books out there, but this has not held back on the quality and originality of the pieces in the book.

Good, but thin
THis is a good gloss over of tattoos. But, there isn’t a whole lot of content. I think what I was looking for is a picture book of tattoos.

I bought this book as a present for my sister-in-law who just started a tattoo business and she loved it.

Purchased as a gift, but it is adored!
I bought this as a housewarming gift for a dear friend of mine who is a tattoo artist. But before I wrapped it, I couldn’t resist taking a peek inside.
Police in western New York say a fugitive all but turned himself in by posting his workplace on Facebook and MySpace.
Police in Lockport passed along the information about 39-year-old Christopher Crego to U.S. marshals. He was arrested Wednesday at a tattoo parlor where he was working in Terre Haute (teh-ruh HOHT’), Ind.
Crego had been wanted since he failed to show up for a sentencing hearing after pleading guilty in the fall to assault. He was also charged with drunken driving, drug possession and using a BB gun to kill birds.
Lockport police posted a thank-you note on Crego’s Facebook page saying: “It was due to your diligence in keeping us informed that now you are under arrest.”

CTW has it right, mostly. Most artists going to conventions need to be booked ahead of time, but not all. I saw folks at the Body Art Expo in SF a while back who were taking walkins. It doesn't hurt to try to contact folks ahead of time though.
